Dear Student,
I am writing to you ahead of the start of the upcoming exams. The timetable is available on the Exams Office website. Please check the timetable to ensure you have the most up to date information regarding your exam. Below, I would like to bring your attention to the following:
Points to note:

It is best to search by module code e.g. B9DA101

We anticipate no more changes but we ask that you check the timetable regularly

All exams will take place as per the scheduled timetable. The timezone is GMT+1.

The Exam Paper will be available 10 minutes before the scheduled start time
-
You will be granted additional administration time to upload your file. This will be determined by the type of file submission. See the exam timetable for more information.

There will be exam support available for the duration of the exam
-
NEP (Need Extra Provision) students requiring extra time - This will be taken into consideration when you submit your file

Download the Exams Answer Template and clearly mark the questions you have answered.
Rules and Regulations

Students are expected to be available for exams for the entire duration of the exam session.

Check the exam timetable carefully for each of your exams. Pay particular attention to the date, time and type of upload.

DBS will carry out spot checks including but not limited to using text-matching software (via Urkund), bench-marking and viva voce exams in order to verify the authenticity of submissions.

Students are expected to adhere to academic integrity and do the right thing.

Ensure you click ‘Submit’ to mark your file as final
Online Exam section in Moodle
Your exam will take place on the relevant module Moodle page. Full and detailed instructions should be issued on the Module Moodle page under the ‘Online Exams’ section. We strongly advise you to practice creating a document, and uploading it to Moodle. This will alleviate undue pressure on the day of your exam. On the exam timetable, we have listed the potential ways in which you may need to upload your final file for submission, see below.

Type your answer into a document and upload the file to the exam submission link. You will have an additional 30 mins to upload the file after the exam is finished.

Combination of typing and handwriting (as required for calculations or diagrams). You will need to take a picture of your handwritten work and insert the picture into a document. You will have an additional 1 hour to upload the file after the exam is finished.

Part or all of the exam will be deployed as a quiz in Moodle and answers input directly (e.g. MCQs and similar questions). For papers which also include longer written questions, these will be completed in a document and uploaded separately. You will have an additional 1 hour to upload the file after the exam has finished.

How to prepare for the exam
Please make sure to:

Have a quiet environment where you can sit your exam

Have your credentials to access Moodle

Have a laptop

Have access to an internet connection

Practice Uploading a file to the Practice Area on your Moodle page

If you are deferred or repeating a module, check for the practice upload link at your earliest convenience. If this is not available, contact your Programme Coordinator.
