Student demand for Business courses rises
With 76,120 students having applied to third level education through the CAO, interesting trends have developed in course choices.

In a report published in The Irish Times on July 18th, statistics show that the demand for business related courses has risen, with first preferences up by 6.5%, while Law has attracted fewer students with demand down 2.5%.

Applications to Level 8 honours degree courses has risen by 77 from last year, while applications to Level 7 Ordinary degrees and Level 6 Higher Certificate courses is dropped by 913 applications. But what effect will this have on points?

These small increases in applicatiions across Level 8 and Level 6/7 imply that there will be little impact on the points requirements which is based on detailed analysis of students' first preferences, outlined in another article published by The Irish Times on July 18th entitled Points Needed for college unlikely to change much this year

DBS offers a wide range of Full-Time Undergraduate Business and Law Degrees across Levels 6, Level 7 and Level 8. For further information on these, or other Full-Time Undergraduate programmes, please contact the Admissions Office on 01-4177500 or by email at admissions@dbs.ie
