Technology giants were in Dublin to attend Web Summit 2014
Budding entrepreneurs and leading CEOs converge in Dublin to attend international conference

Over 20,000 people from around the world arrived in Dublin this week to attend the Web Summit 2014. The international conference attracted some of the brightest web entrepreneurs, including representatives from fledgling start-ups to well-established leaders in technology.

The three-day event hosted more than 100 of the world’s top tech chief executives, 700 investors and more than 2,000 start-ups. Between them, they booked 13,000 hotel rooms and guest homes and occupied 87 venues across Dublin city. This year featured speakers from Google, Amazon, Cisco, Twitter and Apple, among others and high-profile guests included U2 frontman Bono, Hollywood actress Eva Longoria, supermodel Lily Cole and footballer Rio Ferdinand.

The event has grown significantly in scale and attendance since the inaugural edition in 2010. The then-named Dublin Web Summit was first held in October 2010 and hosted 500 guests. The event has sky-rocketed in stature in just four years and is now a firm feature on the calendar for leading international IT professionals to network, learn and develop their own business ideas.

The global event was held in the Irish capital for three days between November 4th-6th across venues at the RDS, Ballsbridge and various other locations across the city.
