Irish Call Opens

The 2013/14 Irish Call opened on Monday, January 20th. Already nearly 500  eligible students have registered on www.csfirlanda.ie. To apply students need to have been approved by CAPES. These students will have until February 10th to choose three Irish institutions. The institutions will make offers between February 11 and March 7.Last year Ireland welcomed over 1200 SWB students. DBS proved tremendously popular due to its choice of pre-session English programme, its wide range of module choice and its internship options.

Trip to Cork

Last term, the Science without Borders students went on a fun-filled trip to the beautiful county of Cork in the south of Ireland.  Despite the atmospheric wind and rain the group fitted a lot in- including a visit to Cork City trip to a holy Island, trip to some of Ireland’s most historic ancient castles, and of course a night in a traditional pub. No trip to Cork is complete without visiting the Blarney Stone. Legend says if you kiss the ancient stone in the castle wall you will have the “Blarney” for the rest of your life!  (Blarney= the ability to talk eloquently on any subject)

World Cup in DBS

Plans are being made for the Dublin Business School mini-world cup in the summer. Twelve international teams. ( Brazil, Germany, Sweden, France, Spain, Malaysia, Nigeria,  India, Kuwait, USA, Ireland, the United Kingdom)  made up of male and female postgraduate and undergraduate students will be battling it out  in the fun- filled tournament.

Visit to Belfast

Next month, Science Without Borders students will join up with student from North Eastern University, Massachusetts to visit the city Belfast for an educational trip focusing on the political transformation of Northern Ireland. One of the highlights of a trip to the now peaceful Belfast is a visit to world famous Titanic museum. The ship was built in Belfast 102 years old ,and has been partially reconstructed in a fascinating exhibition.

STUDENTS HELP PROMOTE DBS THROUGH FACEBOOK

Science without Borders students have created two Facebook pages- CSF- Dublin Business School Edital 2013 and CSF Dublin Business School Geral.  Marilia Santos explained that the first group is for her class of 2013/14 to stay connected with each other, while CSF Dublin Business School Geral is for students in Brazil who are considering coming to DBS and would like to connect with current students.
