Where you'll go?

  • BA (Hons) Arts - Graduates are currently working in the film, radio and theatre industries. Further pathways include teaching, lecturing, advertising, business, the health services, the government and a range of other areas.
  • BA (Hons) Psychology - Graduates have progressed into areas such as social work and teaching. A postgraduate qualification is normally required if graduates are to find work as a professional psychologist.
  • BA (Hons) in Business - Business graduates have progressed into careers in marketing, sales, operations, information technology, finance and general management.
  • Bachelor of Laws (Hons) - For those wishing to train as a solicitor or barrister. Graduates also have also progressed to careers in social sciences, politics, the media and public services.

Focus on BA (Hons) Psychology - (PSI Accredited).
A psychology degree is one of the most coveted qualifications worldwide.

Psychology graduates are required in many industry sectors where they play a vital role.

The Psychology degree in DBS School of Arts was the first non-University degree to be accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI). PSI is the professional body for psychology in Ireland. As such, it seeks to promote the science and profession of psychology in Ireland and beyond. The psychology degree represents the necessary first step to becoming a professional psychologist.

 

Across the programme, all the key areas of psychology are studied, including laboratory and project work. The BA (Hons) in Psychology programme at DBS School of Arts is also unique in that it includes significant content from the field of psychoanalysis, one of the major and most challenging traditions in the history of psychology.

 

  • Upon completion, graduates are eligible to apply for postgraduate training programmes and ultimately gain employment in their area of expertise.
  • Most common areas of practice include: Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Educational Psychology, Forensic Psychology, Health & Organisational Psychology.
  • Focus on the Psychology of Organisations and Work/Advanced Topics in Psychology
  • Insight to Personality Theory, Intelligence and Individual differences.
