Interxion’s Doug Loewe: Ireland attracts a disproportionately high number of US cloud players

Interxion is the leading provider of cloud and carrier neutral colocation data centre services in Europe supporting over 1,300 customers through 34 data centres across 11 countries.  The company recently embarked on the expansion of its Dublin data centre to bring an additional 900 sq metres of equipped space at its DUB2 data centre, bringing the total equipped space to 1,700 sq metres.  The expansion brings €13m of capital investment in the company’s Dublin facilities so far.

Doug Loewe, the managing director of Interxion Ireland commented recently that “Ireland is attracting a disproportionately high number of cloud and big data players and judging by the pipeline the trend is set to continue”. Loewe says “Ireland is a natural location for cloud computing for companies seeking the perfect geographic location to serve a growing global audience”.

Dublin Business School has been a successful provider of cloud computing programmes, and with our newly developed computer labs in our Castle House Campus on George's Street, we can offer the unique combination of state of the art equipment and programmes coupled with modern facilities and talented, creative and experienced lecturers.  Our Cloud Computing courses are specifically aimed at facilitating the students understanding in this growth area and how organisations may exploit vast business opportunities that result from the transformative power that Cloud Computing offers both now and in the future.
