Interested in a Career in the Irish Film and TV Industry?

A recent Irish Film & Televison Network (IFTN) report asserts that "the Irish industry can confidently stand alone as one of the strongest and most vibrant years of solid high quality production.

Record revenues of €168 million reported in 2013 by the Department of Art’s IFB and all general reports point to a sector which is building a powerful resource of film and TV professionals across business, creative and craft, that continues to punch above its weight on the world stage".

"The past 12 months of production reinforces this, as from low to high budget there is an abundance of quality offerings for audiences of all tastes.

Films such as: John Michael McDonagh’s ‘Calvary’, Lenny Abrahamson’s ‘Frank’, John Butler’s ‘The Stag’, and Neil Jordan’s ‘Byzantium’ are all gaining attention securing international distribution while also competing at international festivals. Many other features are also making waves including ‘The Sea’, ‘Last Days on Mars’, ‘Made in Belfast’ and so many more.

Of an equally superb standard is the brilliantly entertaining television drama being produced and filmed in Ireland for an global audience such as ‘Ripper Street’, ‘Moonfleet’, ‘The Fall’, ‘Vikings’, ‘Game of Thrones’, Love/Hate’, ‘Quirke’, ‘MoonBoy’ ‘Amber’ and more".

"All have key Irish HODs across their productions, with Irish craftspeople winning recognition and awards for their work both at home and abroad.

IFTN report that the appetite for high quality content has never been greater and that Irish graduates are rising to this challenge.

There is a proliferation of talented film and TV graduates emerging from the country’s top colleges each year. They are making "a significant contribution to the growth of an industry that now commands serious international attention".

We are now accepting applications for the BA (Hons) Film Studies and the BA (Hons) Film, Litrature and Drama
