Government targets 45,000 new jobs in ICT sector over the next four years
 |
Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton and Minister for Education and Skills Ruairí Quinn have announced the Government's ICT Skills Action Plan 2014. The Government has announced plans to create almost 45,000 jobs in the ICT sector over the next four years. Minister Bruton said the plan is aimed at making Ireland a global leader in information technology. Currently 60% of industry demand is met by graduates from Ireland, but the action plan envisages that figure will rise to 74% by 2018. The tech sector currently employs 105,000 people around the country. "As part of the Government's drive to make Ireland the most attractive location globally for ICT Skills it is essential that we have a good pipeline of highly skilled graduates to meet the demands of industry," commented Mr Quinn.

Progress to Success: DBS Professional Diplomas can start you on your educational journey
From Diploma to Degree and beyond; Progression with Dublin Business School
 |
Deciding to return to education or a change in career direction can be a daunting task, and there are many issues to consider: - Will I be able for the workload?
- Will I like the course?
- Can I balance work, study and family?
- Can I afford to return to education?
Dublin Business School Professional Diploma programmes offer an ideal solution to many of these concerns. Diploma programmes provide an opportunity for students to taste a subject area; be it Psychology, Legal Studies, Management etc. before committing to a 4 year part-time degree course. This enables students to adapt to college life, become accustomed to workloads and assignments and to attending weekly classes and consider their dedication to a particular course before potentially considering a degree.
Should a student decide that a degree may not be a suitable option, they will achieve a diploma upon successful completion of their course. Should students wish to progress, many of our programmes do entitle you to exemptions in our degree courses; please contact our admissions office for more details. Early applications provide ample time to commence payment in installments, which can greatly assist the cost of returning to study. To discuss how a diploma programme could commence your study journey, please contact us at the office on (01) 4177500 or email admissions@dbs.ie
