What will teaching look like for the Academic Year 2020/21 at Dublin Business School?

DBS aims to give you the best possible campus and blended learning experience. All classes for 2020/21 will be taught on a hybrid learning basis. This means you will be on campus for some classes and other classes will be online. Your timetable will be available once you register for the programme and will advise you of which classes are on campus and which classes will be taken online.

Our objective is for every student to have as much classroom teaching as possible.   The amount of classroom teaching for any individual student is dependent upon how many other students are in the class.   On average we expect that while a 2-metre social distance requirement is in place for Colleges and Universities, a student will spend approximately one-third of their time in the classroom and the remainder online.

However, for September 2020 intake only, students have the option of taking the entire diploma programme online.

All student services such as Career and Library Services, Student Welfare and Academic Support will still be fully available to all students. All of these support services are being reformatted for the new academic year so as students can access them online as well as on campus.

DBS Admissions Office is Now Open

While our physical campus has been closed since March, DBS has continued to be fully operational. We have taken all measures to ensure minimum disruption to our services as the Coronavirus COVID-19 situation evolved. We are very pleased to announce that in line with the Irish Government Reopening Plan our Admissions Office on Aungier Street is now open to deal with prospective student enquiries and applications for September 2020 entry.

The health and safety of our staff and students matter so we've made some important changes to keep everyone safe. If you have questions and would like to speak to a member of the DBS Team we look forward to welcoming you to our Aungier Street campus building where you can expect a safe and informative experience.

We understand you might be feeling a bit nervous so we’ve added some additional safety measures to make sure you feel as safe and comfortable as possible when you come in to see us.

  • We have rearranged our reception area to facilitate visitors who would like to have a face-to-face chat with our admissions staff. We have provided booths with protective screens for the protection of both parties.
  • We strongly encourage you to maintain social distancing guidelines of 2 metres between you and other people when visiting our Admissions Office.
  • Floor markers and queue ropes are in place to show you the recommended distance. The number of prospective students allowed in the building at any one time may be limited, in order to comply with HSE guidelines.
  • We have increased cleaning and sanitation of our buildings.

Our Admissions team is also still contactable by email admissions@dbs.ie and by phone + 353 1 4177500 to answer all your questions.

Diploma in Data Analytics

Data analytics equips learners with knowledge and skills to extract trends, patterns and useful insights from data allowing them to make better use of resources, operations and bring organisations to the next level.

This programme equips learners with these modern analytical skills and the ability to analyse trends in data and generate business intelligence for enhanced business operations and better decision making in day to day business.

Diploma in Cybersecurity

Cybersecurity is the protection of internet-connected systems such as networks, devices, programs, and data from cyber-attacks or unauthorised access.

The World Economic Forum lists cyber-attacks as 5th in the top 10 global risks and this can affect an individual’s business or work in a number of ways.

Cybersecurity is therefore used by individuals and businesses to protect against unauthorised access to data centres and computerised systems.

Diploma in Cloud Computing

Cloud computing is a term that is used for on-demand delivery of hosted services and resources such as data storage, software, computing power, etc. over the internet. It is the most valuable innovation of the 21st century.

Cloud provides an efficient and sustainable way of doing business in comparison to the traditional IT solutions. Businesses can choose specific cloud models and deployment strategies based on their needs.

Cloud computing is not only beneficial for business, but it also enables individual users to use several resources such as storage on cloud, software, platform and infrastructure that can be used on cloud instead of running it on a local machine.
