Ireland heads Forbes' list of the best countries for business

Ireland has for the first time been named as the “best country for business” in rankings carried out by renowned US financial magazine Forbes.

Ireland has moved up from sixth position in the influential rankings last year. The rankings are determined by grading 145 nations on 11 different factors: property rights, innovation, taxes, technology, corruption, freedom (personal, trade and monetary), red tape, investor protection and stock market performance.

'Forbes' also pointed out that Dublin serves as the European headquarters for a number of tech firms including Google and Facebook.

Sinead Hackett - MBA in Finance

Studying to do an MBA, I knew I would be able to present myself as a candidate who has the professional skills and competencies required for success in business and give me a valuable competitive advantage in the job market, by developing new management skills, which allow me to contribute at a higher level in my organization.

The DBS MBA delivered on its promise of quality lecturing and coursework. I have never worked so hard, nor felt so proud of the work I have accomplished than I did while doing the MBA. The DBS MBA’s approach and emphasis on group work allows all students to excel in their strengths and allows for additional help in areas that are more challenging. Classes were taught in an interactive fashion, allowing me to build on my own experience by learning from my classmates as well as the lecturers.

The lecturers represented a great blend of academics and real world backgrounds. In the DBS MBA, every student is pushed hard, encouraged to contribute, and expected to deliver at a very high standard. With a small class, the lecturers and staff truly got to know the students and were very available to help whenever required.

I found the DBS MBA to be a milestone in my professional and personal life. The intensity and extent of the MBA has prepared me for high pressure situations, complex problem solving and work-life balancing that I can use in my approach to all challenges in a working life.
I continue to be very happy with my choice of attending Dublin Business School for its MBA programme, and would highly recommend it to anyone.
