Siemens to create 11 new jobs as it expands security division
New jobs in Dublin

Siemens is to create 11 new jobs in Dublin following the transfer of its intruder detection business to Clonshaugh.

The move will centralise the intrusion detection group’s R&D, product management and customer service divisions in one location.

The 11 new jobs will bring the total number of employees in the team to 36.

The detection side of the business was originally based in Switzerland while the group in Ireland manufactured the panels.

The group’s main products include the SPC IP-enabled alarm system, which uses Siemen’s patented Magic Mirror technology.

“The consolidation of our intruder detection operation will benefit all stakeholders and increase our effectiveness and efficiency both internally and externally,” said Peter Hawksworth, CEO of Security Products at Siemens.

“It is a move that makes perfect sense and we are delighted to be in a position where we can experience all the business benefits that being located in Ireland brings.”

Siemens’ relationship with Ireland extends back to 1874 and the company constructed the landmark Shannon hydroelectric scheme in 1929.

Siemens currently employs 550 people in Ireland.
