Closing date for CAO Change of Mind facility

Now that the exams are finally over, it is time to start thinking again about your CAO. If there is any doubt in your mind about about your course choices, now is the time to re-visit it before you head for a well deserved break. It is vital to remember when reviewing your CAO to ensure that both the Level 8 and Level 6/7 lists are fully completed with a good range of course choices..

The CAO Change of Mind facility will be closing this Monday 1st July at 5:15pm. Changes to your CAO application can be made online through the CAO website. And remember, you will not be able to change your course choices after this date, so before submitting your form, discuss your choices with your parents, guidance councellors or admissions officers who can advise you on all your options for September 2013.

DBS offers a wide range of courses in areas such as Marketing, Event Management, Accounting & Finance, Information Technology, Psychology, Film Studies, Social Science and Law and courses are offered across Levels 6, 7 and 8.

If you would like to discuss your CAO application or learn more about DBS courses on the CAO, please view our CAO section on the DBS website, or contact our admissions team by email admissions@dbs.ie or call 01-4177500 and we would be delighted to help.

Focus on DBS School of Arts

Did you know that we currently offer 12 programmes within the School of Arts?

In 1999 DBS acquired the School of Arts from LSB College and since then we have continued to offer students a wide range programmes in the areas of Arts and Humanities. This acquisition subsequently led to us to become Irelands first private college to be awarded accreditation from the Psychological Society of Ireland.

Programmes on offer in the school include areas such as Psychology, Social Science, General Arts, Film Studies and Journalism.

DBS is also renowned for the fantastic range of School of Business and School of Law programmes. Check out the complete list of School of Business and School of Law programmes today.

One of the most popular programmes currently on offer is the BA (Hons) Psychology which is a HETAC awarded level 8 honours degree which is also fully accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland. This degree award was the first outside of the University sector to receive this accreditation and it remains an extremely valuable aspect of the programme. Having the PSI accreditation allows students to progress to postgraduate study in any other college or university and our graduates regularly proceed to these specialist awards. You can apply for this programme by putting the course code DB562 in the Level 8 section of your CAO.

New facilities, opened in 2010 in the Castle House building on Georges Street, include Media Labs and Studios for students who are currently completing one of the more creative programmes in areas such as Film Studies or Media Studies. These facilities are state of the art and offer students hands on experience in their chosen fields whilst also providing a better understanding of the career opportunities.
