Jobs Available for Jobseekers with ICT Skills

There are indications of an increase in the number of jobseekers, with the right skills, to fill ICT job positions as they become available, as the ICT employment market maintains a ‘steady as you go’ trend, according to the latest employment trends report.

According to the Information Technology Contracting and Recruitment Association (ITCRA), ICT recruitment is currently keeping in step with the general labour market, with the ITCRA Trends Report and reports from the Australian Bureau of Statistics indicating both sets of data are performing “almost in balance.”

ITCRA CEO, Julie Millls, says this is “off the back of ICT recruitment trending better against the ABS indicator in the past two quarters, but this is not unexpected as last quarter saw the political landscape continue to drive uncertain business conditions across the country.”

What is Springboard?
The Springboard initiative in higher education offers free, part-time courses at certificate, degree and masters level. All courses lead to qualifications in enterprise sectors which are growing and need skilled personnel, including information and communications technology (ICT), international financial services, and key skills for enterprise to trade internationally. Qualifications are also available in cross-enterprise skills such as sales for cloud services, international sales, digital marketing, and project management.

Springboard at Dublin Business School
Dublin Business School (DBS) in conjunction with the Higher Education Authority (HEA) under the Government ‘Springboard’ initiative is providing the jobseeker the opportunity to reskill or upskill for FREE under a range of approved and accredited courses identified as providing training that will improve the future skills of the labour force, in a range of sectors where sustainable employment is predicted to rise as the economy recovers.

DBS is delighted to announce that it will be offering the following programmes:

Participants can study for free without losing their social protection entitlements, and there is no minimum period of time in which participants are required to have claimed social protection payments.

How do I apply for a Springboard programme?
Applications for all Springboard programmes commencing in September 2013 are currently being accepted.

Applications for programmes through Springboard are made online via the Springboard portal.
