Anjulee recently completed the DBS Online Diploma in Project Management. She told us why an online course was the right choice for her.
Why did you decide to do an online course?
An online course was more convenient as it would allow me to do it from the comfort of my own home and it wouldn't interrupt my normal work schedule as it was after hours. It was also easier to access and I didn't have to commute to a physical classroom.
How did you enjoy the DBS Online course?
I really liked the course online as the platform was easy to use and the Zoom application we used to conduct the classes in was easy to use and I was able to not only see and hear my lecturer but also have conversations with other classmates, which made it feel more like a class.
How has the course benefited you personally?
I was able to apply some of the content of the classes to my own workplace, which allowed me to make certain changes to the flow and procedures. This helped both me and my other colleagues to plan our workdays better.
How was the course of benefit professionally?
I enjoyed what I learned. There was new content that I previously only touched on in my graduate and master’s degrees. I liked that I was still able to learn something new and apply it to my own way of doing my work. I believe that I am more comfortable and confident to apply what I learned to my own way of thinking as it was thoroughly explained and proper examples were given, allowing me to have a better understanding of how planning a project works.
Do you think the course helped you get your current role?
It definitely improved my knowledge on how to approach certain aspects in my workplace. It allowed me to think of other ways to approach certain situations and definitely improved my work performance.
Where are you currently working?
I currently work as an Assistant Manager in a medical clinic.
What you felt was the best thing about studying with DBS Online?
The best things about studying with DBS Online was the content provided, how it was provided (the platform) and most importantly the fact that our lecturer already had a lot of experience in the field that he was teaching. I liked the real life examples he gave us and that he was able to tell us what theory worked in the practical world and what didn't. One of the things I like about DBS in general is that their lecturers are all professionals with experience in the fields that they are teaching in.
