Applications open for Transfer Students
We have been busy this week processing a number of applications from students who wish to transfer to DBS from other level 6 and 7 awards in DBS and also from other institutions.

Interested in discussing a possible transfer? Contact the admissions office today! Remember - you will need a level 8 award to be eligible for the majority of masters programmes in Ireland. There is no fee to apply and no fee to have your file assessed so why not apply today and unlock your potential.

Why not check out the guidelines which generally apply to all transfer applications to see where you might fit in. It is important to note that the level at which you may enter a programme will not be confirmed until your application and official college transcripts have been received.

Higher Certificate Applicants:

A higher certificate sits at level 6 on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) and as such applicants will generally be processed for entry to final year of an ordinary degree or 2nd year of an honours degree with 2 years left to complete. Obviously, the applicant must present evidence of having completed the same (or similar) modules as our own students would have in the form of academic transcripts.

Higher National Diploma Award Applicants:

A HND award is UK based and as such is not fully alligned to the Irish NFQ sitting in between level 6 and level 7. As a result of this, it must be treated as a level 6 award and the guidelines which apply to the Higher Certificates (above) will also apply to HND graduates.

FETAC level 6

FETAC level 6 graduates are also treated in the same way as Higher Certificate graduates

Ordinary Degree

An ordinary degree sits at level 7 on the NFQ and level 7 graduates will be processed for final year entry to an honours degree in a cognate discipline.
