New San Francisco flight will boost Silicon Valley connections to Ireland

It is announced by Aer Lingus that a new direct air route between Dublin and San Francisco will be introduced which will fly five times a week starting on Wednesday April 2nd.  Currently approximately 40 percent of the foreign direct investment to Ireland from the US comes from the Silicon Valley area.  Major technology companies, such as LinkedIn and Google have their international headquarters in Dublin while their founding HQs are in the San Francisco area, no doubt this new direct air route will boost Ireland’s profile and visibility as a business location in the Silicon Valley region.

DBS Event Management Students: Putting their skills into practice

At Dublin Business School, we are committed to delivering courses that provide students with key skills that can be utilised in the workplace, enhancing your chances of career success going forward. In addition to programme delivery, DBS also offers students a broad range of societies and extra-curricular opportunities to use their new-found skills, as is demonstrated by the wide variety of events regularly organised by our event management students throughout the academic year. This is yet another example of how DBS has employability at the heart of their programmes.

The DBS Annual Formal Ball & DBS Sports and Societies Awards took place last Thursday the 27th of March in Clontarf Castle. The event
was organised by the DBS Event Management students in conjunction with Student Services.

The BA (Hons) Marketing (Event Management)  provides students with the key skills to plan and execute successful events. Tackling logistical, financial, operational and communications challenges, the programme was developed to provide a structured approach to planning and managing events that reduce pressure on the event organiser and produce a top quality event.
