Next Open Evening at DBS

Would you like to study at DBS?

Come along to our next Open Evening for CAO students in our Aungier Street campus on Tuesday the 28th of June from 5-7pm.  Exams will be over, college will be next.  So come along and find out about life at DBS!

5 Reasons to attend a DBS Open Day:

1. Meet our lecturers - Speak to lecturers from all the different faculties and get a real insight to what each course offers, how the course is structured and how you will be assessed.

2. See our facilities - Take the chance to get a feel for the college and see what our lecture theatres are like along with our other facilities such as the library, common room and canteen.

3. Advice - If you're not sure what course to apply for or which career path you would like to take, don't worry; our admissions and academic staff can help advise you of your options and help pick the right course for you.

4. Student Experience - Get an insight into the many different sports and societies on offer at DBS.  These include  sports such as football and swimming through to film and dance.

5. Discover the local area: Experience our city centre location, just three minutes from Grafton Street, and the vibrant local atmosphere which includes a variety of restaurants, cafes and leisure activities.

We look forward to meeting you there!

Best of Luck to all Leaving Cert students!

Here at DBS we would like to wish all Leaving Certificate students the best of luck with their exams!

We have compiled a list below of some tips for you to help survive the exams.

You are what you eat

Do try and eat regular, well-balanced meals to keep your energy stocks high.

Sleep

Make sure to get enough sleep - it’s hard enough to maintain concentration without nodding off at your desk!

Make a study plan

You probably already have some variation on this but no harm to revisit and be realistic about what you can achieve. With your timetable in mind, prioritise those coming up first.

Go outside

Studying outside can work for some, for most, it’s probably a bit too distracting but it will do you good to get out of your darkened room, even for a ten minute walk around the block.

Treat yourself

Give yourself a reward at the end of the day - whether it be a dessert or half hour of your favourite show. It will give you something to look forward to and will take your mind off study for a little bit.

Remember why you’re doing this

It’s easy to lose sight of what you’re working towards - the course you want, a sense of achievement - even the simple desire to not have to repeat. If you find yourself unmotivated, remind yourself what the end goal is - and that it will all be over soon enough.

Good luck! See you on the other side.
