LinkedIn to invest in new International Headquarters in Dublin
Online home of job networking to expand presence in Dublin

LinkedIn, the world’s largest professional online network, has announced plans today to invest in its international headquarters in Dublin after acquiring a 17,507 square metre site at Wilton Place. The new site has capacity to see LinkedIn’s current Irish workforce grow from 600 to 1,200 people in the future. Construction work on the new International headquarters will begin in May 2015 with building works expected to be completed at the beginning of 2017.

LinkedIn’s mission is to connect the world’s professionals to make them more productive and successful. In recent years, LinkedIn has helped to transform the recruitment sector globally and also enables some of the world’s leading brands to engage the most influential and affluent professionals.

Since its arrival in Dublin in March 2010, LinkedIn has grown substantially from an initial 3 people, to more than 600 employees today. LinkedIn’s international headquarters in Dublin is now one of the leading employers in the Irish digital technology sector. The company bases a variety of different functions including sales and marketing at its offices in Wilton Place.

Sharon McCooey, Senior Director, LinkedIn Ireland, added: “With 1.2 million members, Ireland is now one of LinkedIn’s top markets when it comes to member penetration. For that reason we are extremely pleased to be announcing a further investment in Ireland and an expansion of our operational presence here. Dublin is now home to a very vibrant digital technology sector and with that comes an important ecosystem for companies like ours as well as the strong pool of talented digital professionals that we need access to in order to further grow our operations in the future.”
