Google said today that it has started construction on a new €150m data centre at Profile Park in West Dublin.

Some 400 jobs will be created during construction, with the first phase expected to be completed later this year.

The two-storey data centre is being built alongside Google’s existing data centre which opened in 2012.
Google also said today that it has completed the purchase of 31 acres next to its facilities in Profile Park that will give the company flexibility for future growth.

“The data centre that we built in Dublin in 2012 has worked really well for us and created around 30 full-time jobs,” said Ronan Harris, head of Google in Ireland.
