DBS Student Testimonials: The views that count
Learn about student experiences from graduates at our 2013 conferring ceremony
|
Dublin Business School prides itself on promoting a work-life balance and providing tailored support services to help our part time students obtain their qualification. At our recent 2013 conferring ceremony held in the RDS some of our students gave an insight into evening study at DBS.
"I found the Diploma in Investment and Capital Markets has been a milestone in my professional and personal life. It has been ten years since I attended college. This is my third academic qualification.DBS were welcoming and have structured a Diploma credited by Davy aimed at a direct advancement in a career of stockbroking. As an evening student a lot of my learning was grasped at class level which I found very helpful whilst working in a full time position. The lecturer in particular (Lisa Carey a lecturer and also an ex Davy broker) showed passion and commitment in making the programme become practical while using her previous experience to evolve theory into real examples. Guest lecturers all came from inspiring careers in Stockbroking and brought real life professionalism to the class environment. The intensity and breadth of the programme prepares you for a understanding of complex Financial situations, problem solving and work-life examples that you can use in your approach to all challenges in your working life".
Marcus Sweeney- Evening Diploma in Investment and Capital Markets "I chose to complete the Diploma in Accounting and Finance to give me a broad knowledge of Financial Accounts as that is the area in which I was working but I had no qualifications. As it had been quite a while (over 15 years!) since I had studied, DBS made the transition easy, and the lecturers were very good and always on hand to answer any queries. As a direct result of completing the course I have since changed roles in my job and my employers are encouraging me to further my education which I am seriously considering. Completing the Diploma has given me the confidence to consider what other opportunities would be available to me if I carried on studying".
