Upcoming Open Events in DBS

Would you like to study at DBS? Come along to one of our Open Evenings in our Aungier Street campus.
Our next Open Event will take place on Tuesday March 8th from 5-7pm, and there'll be two more on Tuesday May 10th and Tuesday June 7th.



Our Open Events are an ideal opportunity for you to visit the college and obtain further information on all our International programmes. You can speak with industry specialist lecturers to identify the programme that is most suitable to your future development.

International Programmes
Study at DBS
Located in Dublin City Centre, DBS is Ireland’s largest independent third level college.  Over the last 40 years DBS has developed a considerable international reputation for the quality of our programmes, which are recognised by the department of education, employers and all major higher education institutions for further study. The college boasts a unique learning environment, developed over the years, with students from over 70 countries participating in our programmes.

Services available for International Students

DBS offers a wide range of supports and services for our International Students.

Moving to a new country to study can be a very daunting experience, that's why we want to make the move as smooth as possible for you. Firstly, you'll need somewhere to live, so for a look at how we can help you find accommodation in Dublin, click here.  As well as that, it would be useful to look at this visa information page, and we have our dedicated Student Welfare Officer to assist you with any issues that might arise during your time here. Our Careers Department hold weekly CV clinics in our Aungier Street campus to help you create an eyecatching and impressive document to boost your chances with potential employers. 



The college has a wide and varied range of clubs, societies and sports teams for students to get involved in, including Brazilian, Indian, Malaysian and Chinese societies to name a small few. Be sure to take advantage of the Student Hub in our Castle House building and get talking to all the other DBS students.

 

At DBS, we realise studying is only one reason for coming to Ireland, so we'll arrange trips and tours to some of Ireland's most beautiful spots, for you to avail of.

EQUIFAX ANNOUNCE 100 JOBS FOR IRELAND
What's happening in Dublin?

It was announced today that global company, Equifax, have opened a new information technology (IT) talent centre in Dublin to address the company’s growing global information technology needs.

The Dublin centre, located in the heart of the South Docks on Sir John Rogerson’s Quay, will focus on developing innovative new solutions to support Equifax operations around the world. Over 100 highly skilled research and development positions will be available, with hiring already under way.

The opening of the new facility comes as a result of support from the Department of Jobs through IDA Ireland, the agency responsible for industrial development and attraction of foreign direct investment.

Applications are open to graduates of a Level 8 honours degree (or equivalent) in business or non-business disciplines. A detailed CV and proof of English (where applicable) will also be examined during the application process. Applicants required to submit evidence of English must submit an IELTS score of 6.5 (or equivalent) for direct admission.

MA in Addiction Studies
Specialised programme for Humanities/Social Science Graduates

The MA in Addiction Studies is a formal exploration of addictions from a variety of academic and scientific perspectives: sociological, cultural, psychological, anthropological, and psychoanalytical.  The programme is concerned with how these perspectives interact and how they differ from each other.  The aim is to educate students so that they can carry out research in the field of addiction and thereby critically inform policy making, as well as management of addiction services.  The programme also provides clinicians with a strong theoretical foundation from where to approach the treatment of addictions.


Key Features of the MA in Addiction Studies:

  • Suited to those with a Humanities / Social Science degree seeking to acquire a postgraduate qualification in the area of Addiction 
  • Also suitable for applicants with clinical training in health or social care who wish to apply a knowledge of the theory and approaches to addiction to their clinical work 
  • Graduates will be qualified for relevant positions in academia, as well as in research for public and private bodies 
  • In addition, graduates can work at a strategic level in healthcare settings, in semi-state bodies and in government agencies shaping polices on addiction treatment both within institutions and in society as a whole.
