'Immigration in Ireland' review indicates rise in non-EEA student numbers
According to the Irish government's annual 'Immigration in Ireland' review', the number of non-EEA national students registered to study or in training in the State at the end of 2013 was approximately 39,600. This compares with a figure of 31,400 at the end of 2012 - an increase of approximately 26%.
The new figures, published by the Minister for Justice, Equality and Defence, Alan Shatter TD, break these numbers down as follows: - 39% were in Higher Education
 - 21% were in further education (non-degree programmes)
 - 27% were on language courses
 - 13% were classified as other (e.g. secondary school)

Ireland's worldwide reputation for high quality education is built on the solid foundation of commitment to excellence.  No wonder a growing number of international students are choosing Ireland to fulfil their potential.
