Dell creates 100 R&D roles in Ireland to drive innovation and digital transformation globally

Dell has announced that it is creating 100 new innovation technology R&D roles at its Limerick campus.

This investment in digital innovation will support the company’s ongoing technology transformation enhancing the end-to-end sales, customer and partner experience.

It builds on an announcement in October that saw 60 Dell commerce services roles created at the R&D centre in Dublin to drive the transformation of Dell’s online platform.

With the creation of the two centres Ireland will become a central development hub for Dell’s innovation technology team.

According to Dell, it constantly evaluates its technology tools and processes with the aim of enhancing the overall customer experience. The team in Limerick will focus on creating more ease and flexibility in the end-to-end customer journey including the sales experience.

The Limerick based R&D team will work closely with the R&D team based in Cherrywood, Co Dublin, as well as with IT colleagues located across the globe to help support and drive Dell’s overall digital transformation strategy.

The announcement was welcomed in Limerick by Minister for Finance Michael Noonan and Minister of State at the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Ged Nash.

“The announcement by Dell that they are creating 100 new R&D roles at its Limerick campus is great news for Limerick. This jobs announcement demonstrates Dell’s commitment to Ireland and its confidence in the highly skilled workers who will apply for these roles,” said Minister Noonan.

“This announcement emphasises the commitment the Government has to job creation in every region in the country and to create full employment by 2018. I wish Dell the very best for the future as they develop their Limerick campus.”
