DBS Open Evening 13th September 5-7pm
Getting your Leaving Certificate results and CAO offers is an exciting time for you as you decide on what courses to accept and how to enhance your chances of getting the course and career you want.  At DBS we have CAO courses to meet all students' needs. We have 35 CAO courses available to you,  20 level 8 Honours degree courses, 9 level 7 Bachelor Degree courses and 6 level 6 Higher Certificate courses. These are offered in the area of Arts, Business and Law. For anyone disappointed with their Maths results, we have 9 courses available that do not have Maths as part of the minimum entry requirement. such as BA (Hons) Journalism or the BA (Hons) Laws LL.B.

5 Reasons you should attend a DBS Open Day: 

1. Meet our lecturers - Speak to lecturers from all the different faculties and get a real insight into what each course offers, how the course is structured and how you will be assessed. 

2. See our facilities - Take the chance to get a feel for the college and see what our lecture theatres are like along with our other facilities such as the library, common room and canteen. 

3. Advice - If you're not sure what course to apply for or which career path you would like to take, don't worry; our admissions and academic staff can help advise you of your options and help pick the right course for you.

4. Student Experience - Get an insight into the many different sports and societies on offer at DBS.  These include  sports such as football and swimming through to film and dance. 

5. Discover the local area: Experience our city centre location, just three minutes from Grafton Street, and the vibrant local atmosphere which includes a variety of restaurants, cafes and leisure activities.

CAO Available Places

CAO Available Places  is now available on the CAO website. CAO Available Places facility allows students the opportunity to add new courses to their CAO application for both Level 6/7 and Level 8  courses. For anyone who has not already applied to the CAO, they can register and submit an application via CAO Available Places for a fee of €40. 

All DBS courses, both Level 6/7  and Level 8 courses are available though CAO Available Places. Please see link here.  Applicants must meet the minimum entry requirements in order to be eligible for the courses but there will be no points cut off. If you meet the minimum entry requirments and have applied via CAO Available Places, you will be offered the course of your choice as DBS do not operate a quota system on their courses.  For more information on Available Places, please see CAO Available Places webpage

Progression Opportunities with DBS
Have you just finished your FETAC level 6 course or Bachelor degree course and would like to progress to a level 8 Honours degree? If so, DBS have a number of opportunities available to you in the area of Law, Business and Arts. As you are an advanced entry candidate, you can apply directly to us via our DBS Online Application form. You will also be required to submit a copy of your CV, photographic identification and a copy of your offical ttranscripts from the course you have just completed.  The course you choose for your advanced entry to DBS must be in a similiar area to the course you have just completed.  For more information, please contact DBS Admission on 01 4177500 or email admissions@dbs.ie
Failed Maths? DBS Options for You
If your Maths results in your Leaving Certificate were not as you expected, please be assured that DBS have a number of options available to you. We have nine courses available that do not have Maths as a minimum entry requirement. Please see list below of these courses:

Higher Options 2016 14th -16th Sept RDS Simmonscourt
Higher Options 2016 takes place in the RDS Simmonscourt from 14th to the 16th September. Come visit us at Stand 80 where we will be happy to give you an overview of our courses in the area of Business, Law and Arts. It is a fantastic oportunity, as you begin you CAO application process, to find out more about the courses we offer in our city centre campus.
