Ireland remains one of the top destinations for leading ICT professionals

Ireland's profile as one of the global leaders in the area of Information, Communication and Technology has witnessed a sharp increase over recent years. The country has cemented its status as a premier backdrop to dynamic and visionary innovation in this field and is active in ensuring fast-paced progress and development in order to meet the demands of the international consumer.

The ICT sector in Ireland incorporates the full range of high tech activities including research and development, high value manufacturing, shared services, supply chain management, software development and technical support operating in areas from computers to chips, telecommunications to software and components to copiers.


The sector has attracted major global investment with 9 of the top 10 US ICT companies operating here. There are over 200 IDA supported ICT companies, directly employing approximately 36,000 people. This represents 22% of total exports, estimated at €35 billion. The ICT Sector continues to grow in Ireland as companies take advantage of the competitive environment, skill base and value propositions.
