Dublin Business School prides itself on promoting a work-life balance and providing tailored support services to help our part time students obtain their qualification. At our 2012 conferring ceremony held in the RDS this week, some of our students gave an insight into evening study at DBS.
“I have a nursing background and have always had a keen interest and desire to study psychology. I was delighted when an opportunity came about for me to study psychology at DBS. I thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of the course and found the College to be very professional and dynamic in it’s approaches to learning. Facilitation was core to the learning which made the course much more interesting and enjoyable. The quality and standards of teaching in the college are very high, making it challenging at times but well worth it. The course is recognised and accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) which I felt was one of the most important factors for deciding where to study Psychology. All staff at DBS are very committed to their individual roles, from front of desk to senior lecturers. What I have done and learnt from my Degree at DBS has placed me on a passionate and fulfilling career in Psychology.”

BA (Hons) in Psychology
“The Social Science degree programme at DBS offered a wide range of subjects as well as an emphasis on learning research methods and developing research skills. Studying and working full-time was not an easy task. However, this was made easier by lecturers who were very approachable and helpful and their lectures always interesting. The relatively small sized classes were an advantage in this regard. The organisation and detail of notes provided in class were also very beneficial as I was able to develop my knowledge between classes. The overall experience of returning to education has been hugely rewarding and the BA (Hons) in Science degree in DBS has provided me with an excellent platform to pursue a career in the area of social research and policy development in the voluntary and community sector.”

BA (Hons) in Social Science
“Successfully completing a BA (Hons) degree after many years away from study took dedication, hard work and commitment. DBS provided support and guidance throughout my studies, with awareness of the difficulties associated with studying while working full time. The ability to access lecture and research material through the website from home was of great benefit. The business course covered a wide range of subjects offering a well rounded business education and a variety of skills. Lectures were interesting and current with lecturers bringing their real life experiences to each subject”
