A Recap of International & Culture Week

Last month we celebrated the rich culture and diversity that we have in our college. We have over 70 nationalities in DBS and we wanted to showcase each of these countries.
This year was the first year that we ran an International & Culture week and it was undoubtedly a huge success!
We had students from different ethnic background involved in the activities and events that we ran throughout the week and they had the opportunity to learn and experience the various cultures that we have in DBS.
Students from different countries were invited to showcase and celebrate their culture last Thursday! For the first time ever in DBS, we hosted an International fair with 13 countries from different continents to teach us a little about their country!
We had representatives from: China, India, Malaysia, Venezuela, Spain, Germany, Ireland, Philippines, Germany, Africa, Kuwait, Sweden and Italy.
We also ran a competition of the best booth of the day. It was on the basis of originality, effort, enthusiasm and food! The Philippines took first place scoring an impressive 40/40. Followed by Malaysia and China sharing 2nd place, with a score of 38/40!

Senior Lecturer at Dublin Business School Visits Our Chinese Partners Xiamen University
Mr, James Browne had the pleasure of being invited to deliver a Public Lecture yesterday at Xiamen City Library. The topic was Examination Technique and Understanding Learning Styles.
James was also pleased to meet some past students who came along to welcome him for his visit to the beautiful campus of Xiamen University in China.

Green Campus Week 2016
On the week of Monday 28th Nov Dublin Business School launched its first Green Campus Week to make Dublin Business School a greener and more sustainable place to work and study.
GREEN CAMPUS WEEK AIMS:
• To encourage the staff and students of DBS to incorporate 'Green Campus' themed initiatives into their daily routine.
• To communicate with the DBS staff, students and the wider community to raise awareness on how to conserve energy, reduce waste and recycle better on a daily basis.
• To actively educate our staff and students around global warming, CO2 emissions and their role in creating a more sustainable world for everyone.
Themes for Green Campus Week included waste reduction & recycling, utilizing technology, energy conservation, greener transportation and printing efficiency.
Small steps, can lead to a big impact!
