Open Events at DBS
At DBS we hold a number of Open Events  throughout the year. These Open Events are an ideal opportunity for you to visit the college and obtain further information on all of our Professional Evening Diploma programmes. You can speak with industry specialist lecturers to identify the programme that is most suitable to your future development.

Our next Open Event will take place our Aungier Street campus on Tuesday March 8th from 5-7pm.
We'll also have two more Open Evenings on Tuesday May 10th and Tuesday June 7th. You can also call in to our Aungier Street campus anytime during the week from 8.45 - 9.15 and speak with a member of our Admissions Team who will be happy to speak to you about the diploma options available to you. Focus on: Diploma in Selling and Sales Management
Selling is one of those activities where success is based largely on experience. Sales professionals often lack a foundation in elements of the management theories behind selling, and crucially sales management. This course looks to address those gaps and by offering students an appreciation of both the skills based elements of selling and the approaches that
successful sales organisations’ employ. 


On completion of the programme students should have acquired the skills to:
  • Develop a greater understanding of selling through exploration of the history of selling and its’ professional nature; the variety and complexity of the sales role and the people engaged in sales activities
  • Obtain a focus in terms of the uniqueness of selling as an activity with particular emphasis on the topical issue of selling in a recession
  • Gain a thorough appreciation of the key elements of successful modern sales management and the approaches used.

Mobile glistens in ‘golden quarter’ for retail

Momentum continues to swing towards online shopping. Online revenue at Irish e-commerce websites increased 45 per cent year in 2015, with traffic to sites growing 27 per cent, the latest study from marketing agency Wolfgang Digital suggests.

This traffic growth was largely driven by mobile, with mobile traffic surging 39 per cent; in the fourth quarter, it actually overtook desktop as the most popular device for e-commerce traffic.

Christmas shoppers browsing in-store but then buying online fuelled this mobile activity, says Wolfgang’s founder and chief executive Alan Coleman.

Our Professional Evening Diploma programmes are structured to address the constraints of modern work and lifestyle commitments. The courses run either one or two evenings per week (depending on the programme) between 6.15pm and 8.30 or 9.30pm and the duration varies between 10, 14, or 25 weeks to a year long. 



All our programmes have been designed and developed in collaboration with industry and the professional bodies so that on completion in addition to your academic qualifications, you will have the skills and knowledge to apply to your career.
