Countdown to Exams: Effective studying to deliver results
Make the most of your remaining revision time

As you have likely recently completed your mock examinations, we hope that it has been a great learning experience for you, and that it has helped you grow in confidence, and to identify areas where you have performed well and those that might need some more attention in the upcoming weeks.

If you have not created a study plan to date, or if you feel you need to refocus on particular subjects, it is not too late to create an organised plan to prepare you for June. The following tips have been created by our academics and our students to help you streamline your subjects, manage your time and concentrate on key areas to help you achieve your goals in your exams.

1. Make a list of the important topics / chapters that you have not already covered so far

2. Plan your next few weeks of study time: create a study schedule detailing subjects

3. Allocate a block of 2 hours per topic / chapter

4. Print and stick a copy up at your desk or in your journal - somewhere you know you can easily find it. Using mind maps will help you to visualise your study journey and achieve your goals

5. Tick things off as you complete them as this will help to motivate you to keep going.

Remember to leave time for you to relax, exercise and to reward yourself for a good day's work. Organisation and focus is essential to a good study plan, and we hope that this will assist you towards success in your upcoming exams.

It's not all about Honours Degrees in the CAO
Don't forget your Level 6 and Level 7 options

Across the Schools of Business, Arts and Law, DBS has nine Level 7 and six Level 6 programmes on offer through the CAO.

Level 7

Bachelor of Business in Accounting

Bachelor of Business in Information Technology

Level 6

Higher Certificate in Business

The great thing about the Level 6 and Level 7 programmes is that they can offer an alternative progression route to an Honours Degree. If you don't get the points for a Level 8 honours degree, you can get started in college with a Level 6 or Level 7. And you don't just have to stop at a Higher Certificate or Ordinary Degree. There are always opportunities for students to progress through DBS to an Honours Degree.
