CAO Open Day

When: Friday 4th December 2015 Time: 11.00 a.m. until 2.00 p.m. Where: DBS Castle House, George's Street What: An Open Event for Leaving Certificate Students
The day will be an opportunity for prospective students to get a taste of college life at DBS. Clubs and Societies will be present to highlight the opportunities available to DBS students, there will be organised campus tours throughout the day to view our library, lecture theatres and campus facilities. Academics from our wide range of subject areas will also be on hand to chat to students about the range of courses we offer. Students will also have the opportunity to attend mini lectures, demonstrations (film etc) using equipment, and view student material which will be on display.
The open day will be supported by DBS partners and sponsors and there will be lots of freebies and prizes to give away. You will also be able to visit our new 'Clubs and Societies Hub' and get a feel for the student experience here at DBS.

- Tax exemptions are also offered on all undergraduate programmes of two years duration or more. For Full Time courses tax relief is currently granted on fees exceeding €2,750 and up to €7,000.

- We offer a range of full time courses from our School of Arts including BA (Hons) Psychology and BA (Hons) Film Studies. Other popular courses include Bachelor of Laws (Hons) LL.B, BA (Hons) Marketing and BA (Hons) Business Studies with streams.
Where will you go? - BA (Hons) Arts - Graduates are currently working in the film, radio and theatre industries. Further pathways include teaching, lecturing, advertising, business, the health services, the government and a range of other areas.
- BA (Hons) Psychology - Graduates have progressed into areas such as social work and teaching. A postgraduate qualification is normally required if graduates are to find work as a professional psychologist.
- BA (Hons) in Business - Business graduates have progressed into careers in marketing, sales, operations, information technology, finance and general management.
- Bachelor of Laws (Hons) - For those wishing to train as a solicitor or barrister. Graduates also have also progressed to careers in social sciences, politics, the media and public services.

Sports Clubs - Sports Clubs at DBS are at the heart of our Student Experience. With around 30 Sports Clubs to choose from ranging from field sports to water sports, there is something for everyone.
- We welcome participation at all levels, from competitive to recreational students, and we hope to give each of our students the opportunity to be involved in the sports that they love.
Societies - Not a fan of labouring around the sports field in the wind and rain? Want to improve your skills, sharpen your talents and make lots of new friends? Then you should join one of the exciting societies at DBS. Our societies bring together students who share a common interest – such as performing, running events, holding debates or trying their hand at something completely new.
- At DBS we offer over 35 fun Societies to choose from with Film, Law, LGBT, Dance, Photography and the Psychology Society just some of the ones on offer. With so much choice the best option is to dive right in and try everything!
