130 jobs to be created in Dublin and Cork

130 jobs are to be created in Dublin and Cork by a US technology company that is investing €100 million in its operations. Pivotal makes software to help companies build cloud-based data and analytics applications. It is a spin-out company from well-known technology firms EMC and VMware, and is also partly owned by General Electric.

The expansion includes the creation of a new software innovation hub for startups and business customers. The positions on offer include software engineering, technical support, operational and general and administrative roles. The company said it is making the investment in Ireland because of its appeal as a major tech hub as well as the strong pool of talent available. The investment is being supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through the IDA, and has been welcomed by the Government.
