Cloud4Gov spells out silver linings of cloud technology

The Cloud4Gov programme sees IDA Ireland and the EMC Corporation construct a cloud centre with hubs in government networks and in EMC’s centre of excellence.
Recently implemented, the programme provides a secure, private space for Irish small and medium-sized enterprises to demonstrate data efficiency and cost-saving solutions. Although “cloud” is still a relatively new term, most people are familiar with the technology. It means that data is not stored on your personal computer, but rather on a remote server that can be accessed by any computer or mobile device. If you have ever shared a Google document, purchased a song from iTunes or streamed a film on Netflix, you will have used cloud technology.

This programme is specifically designed to assist Springboard participants to embark on a career in Networking Administration and Server Administration.

This course will provide participants with the skills needed to understand database technology and how that interacts with cloud technologies, and help them take their first steps towards a career as an IT professional in Database Administration, Database Developement or Business Intelligence Developement.
