Daily deals giant Groupon to create 200 jobs
New jobs in Dublin
Daily deals site Groupon wants experienced tech professionals in software engineering, data analysis and digital marketing to fill 200 jobs in Dublin at its new Engineering and Marketing Centre.

The centre will serve as a research and development hub, responsible for the development of technology platforms that will be used across Groupon’s local markets worldwide, which number more than 500.

Groupon has already created 100 highly skilled roles in Dublin, with plans to add 200 more over the next two years.

The new team will be a key pillar of growth for the company in areas such as advanced customer analytics, marketing automation, content delivery and core systems architecture.

Sasha Berson, Groupon’s chief marketing officer for EMEA, said the Engineering and Marketing Centre will play an important part in Groupon’s continuing transition from a daily deals site to a true online marketplace, Berson said.

“Our Dublin location gives us access to a diverse and talented pool of tech professionals and we look forward to building a world-class team here,” she said.

Martin Shanahan, CEO of IDA Ireland, added that Groupon’s choice of Dublin as the location for its Engineering and Marketing Centre is an endorsement of Ireland’s strong credentials as a hub for international commerce.

Ireland’s Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through IDA Ireland is supporting the investment.

What do MOMENTUM Students think?

“Prior to joining the GradIreland team in July 2013, I had been unemployed for some time. A business venture failed to take off and I was at an all-time career low. I knew that I needed to up-skill. After some market research I found that my best chances of employment would be found through finishing an online digital marketing course with MOMENTUM, and the best institution for this was Dublin Business School. There is a great atmosphere in the college and the staff are very helpful, friendly and approachable. The course content was excellent and very relevant to today’s market place. My work placement at the end of the course was with gradireland and I am still here today.”
