What is Springboard+?
The Springboard+ initiative in higher education offers free, part-time courses at certificate, degree and masters level. All courses lead to qualifications in enterprise sectors which are growing and need skilled personnel, including information and communications technology (ICT); manufacturing; international financial services; and key skills for enterprise to trade internationally. Qualifications are also available in cross-enterprise skills such as innovation, enterprise/entrepreneurship, digital marketing, and project management.

Job listings skyrocketing in Ireland this year
 |
The total number of jobs advertised in Ireland in Q2 of this year was up 17pc on 2014’s numbers. This period saw telecoms, in particular, seeing a sharp rise in job postings, up 41pc on the same time last year. Banking and fintech saw listings up by almost half, with construction, architecture and property up 18pc, according to a report by IrishJobs.ie. Of jobseekers surveyed that are currently employed, almost one-fifth have received a salary increase this year, with another 30pc expecting one. There’s plenty of movement, too, with almost everyone surveyed (93pc) saying they would upskill or retrain for a new job as the market shifts. “The Jobs Index has shown steady growth in the jobs market over the past year and this growth is gaining momentum,” says Safann MacCarthy, marketing director with IrishJobs.ie. “Employers across SME’s and large enterprise are hiring at a greater rate with a very positive impact on the total number of jobs available.”

Read what our Graduates have to say about Springboard+ at DBS
"Having been fortunate enough to gain a place studying Digital Marketing as part of the Springboard+ initiative at DBS I found myself enjoying the course from the start. The attitude of lecturers and students was immediately positive and encouraging, while the course content itself was thorough and enjoyable.
Gaining new skills and the general environment of encouragement certainly helped my own prospects and confidence with regard to future professional development.
I found the DBS city centre location convenient and vibrant. Overall, having seen my career benifit significantly both during and after my time at the college I feel that my participation on the course at DBS was an extremely rewarding and beneficial experience."
James Jennings, Certificate in Digital Marketing
