Mobile glistens in ‘golden quarter’ for retail
Momentum continues to swing towards online shopping. Online revenue at Irish e-commerce websites increased 45 per cent year in 2015, with traffic to sites growing 27 per cent, the latest study from marketing agency Wolfgang Digital suggests. This traffic growth was largely driven by mobile, with mobile traffic surging 39 per cent; in the fourth quarter, it actually overtook desktop as the most popular device for e-commerce traffic. Christmas shoppers browsing in-store but then buying online fuelled this mobile activity, says Wolfgang’s founder and chief executive Alan Coleman. (Source: Irish Times)
